"illegally wearing body armour" This one confused me. Do you need a permit for that?

"illegally wearing body armour"

Since 9/11. I no longger question the law, don't want to let the terrorists win.

several states, NY and CA prominent among them, have statutes stating that felons convicted of certain violent offenses may not wear body armor. I believe (not certain on this one) that this is a misdemeanor, and is often an add-on offense (like a seatbelt violation - it's never the primary offense that they get you on) when the cops want to charge a high-profile and/or extremely dangerous criminal with as much as they can make stick. I believe (again, not certain) that either Snoop or 50 cent was charged with this at one point, but the charge was subsequently dismissed.
