Comments: So Long, Daunte?

It might work if they can trade Culpepper to some crappy team with a high enough draft pick to get either Young or Leinart. Johnson will be a solid performer for a year or two while the new guy learns the whole NFL thing. And Culpepper's talented enough to justify making the trade, from a Texan or Jet perspective.

Just like trading Moss got us a decent WR to develop... Oh wait it didn't.

Someone has got to be the new Cincinati Bengals.

The problem is that there is a very weak market for Culpepper right now.

The Vikings need to hang on to him until he can recover. A second round draft choice (which is about his market right now) is just not enough for a team that can afford to have him ride the pine for the two years of Johnson's contract.

A rash move here will end worse than the Moss trade. I just hope the triumverate is smarter than Tice and Red were.
