"WHAT MATTERS, THEN, IS INTELLECTUAL

"WHAT MATTERS, THEN, IS INTELLECTUAL FLEXIBILITY:" Great James Lileks Bleat today, asking whether all the stuff John Kerry said about veterans 30 years ago is still relevant today. I say it's not; nor does it mean anything that he sat three rows behind Jane Fonda at a rally in 1970. We're all allowed, Lileks argues, to believe stupid things when we're young. What's important, he argues, is whether or not your ideas "survive contact with the real world."
