AND THEN THERE WERE SIX: Joe Lieberman dropped out of the Democratic presidential race last night after failing to make an impact in any of the recent primaries. Joe joins Bob Graham, Carol Moseley-Braun, and Dick Gephardt on the sidelines; expect Wesley Clark to exit next, followed by, yes, Howard Dean.
Lieberman's candidacy failed for two reasons: he's too conservative for most Democratic primary voters, and his sanctimony turned off just about everyone else. Better luck next time with that "Joementum" thing.
