Not only is he considering trading 26-year-old maybe-future Hall of Famer Alfonso Soriano for the two-years-from-retirement Curt Schilling, but yesterday The Boss announced the hiring of recent convict Darryl Strawberry as a "player development instructor." Because really, it's hard to imagine a better role model for young, developing players than Darryl Strawberry.
Strawberry and Gooden, in the same front office? Can Steve Howe be far behind? Or perhaps they can go the "Brawling '86 Mets" route, and employ a new "scouting staff" of Lenny Dykstra, Ron Darling, and Tim Teufel.
