HE'S SKEE-ING ON ONE SKEE!:

HE'S SKEE-ING ON ONE SKEE!: This weekend, at the very end of the summer, I finally made my first trip down the Jersey Shore of the year. And while our planned sojourn to Atlantic City was scuttled when my friend got a Bloomberg-mandated $300 towing fee in the city (which consumed the money Donald Trump otherwise would have) we instead headed for the Boardwalk in Point Pleasant.
While all eight of us both walked on the beach and hung out at Tiki Bar, the highlight of the evening was unquestionably Skee-Ball. Skee-Ball rules. It's not just a great New Jersey game- but a great American game. Not quite bowling, and not quite craps, Skee-Ball has such cult status down the Shore that Kevin Smith inserted a scene into "Dogma" in which God comes to Earth (in the person of Bud Cort) just to play Skee-Ball.
If they ever started a professional Skee-Ball league, I'd have to give serious consideration to quitting my day job and playing Skee-Ball professionally. The same is also true of the great Jewish summer camp game "Gaga." Gaga truly ranks up there with Middle East democracy, the Uzi, Dana International, Elite chocolate, and ass-kicking female soldiers in the pantheon of Israeli culture's greatest contributions to the world.
