VERY SUPERSTITIOUS, THE WRITING'S ON

VERY SUPERSTITIOUS, THE WRITING'S ON THE WALL: At about 11:00 EDT tonight, a headline was posted to ESPN.com, stating that St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Woody Williams had a no-hitter going after 7 innings. Well that jinxed him, because about two minutes later Williams gave up a single to Orlando Hudson, foiling his bid for the first interleague no-hitter since David Cone's perfect game against the Expos in 1999.
True, most baseball superstitions are stupid, but this one's legit: you don't ever acknowledge that your pitcher is working on a no-hitter.
