GAY PANIC: Colorado Rockies reliever

GAY PANIC: Colorado Rockies reliever Todd Jones pulled a Santorum a few weeks back, telling a reporter that he would never accept a gay player on his team and worried that such a mythical teammate would "rub my face in it." The Rockies disavowed his remarks, and like John Rocker before him the controversy seems to have affected him on the mound: Jones thus far this year has an ERA of about 5.50.
Then in tonight's game against the Braves, Jones entered the game in the eighth with the Rockies leading and two other Joneses (Andruw and Chipper Jones) due up. Todd Jones walked Chipper Jones, before Andruw hit a two-run homer that won the game for the Braves.
Which brings up the natural question: did Todd Jones pitch so poorly because he was nervous, 'cause he thought maybe Andruw Jones and Chipper Jones were married to each other or something? Did such homophobia make him worry that, as a Jones, he may be gay himself?
Todd Jones tonight, just like every other night, was the loser.

AND ON THE SAME SUBJECT: Mike Piazza is the The Mole. (Story from the Stamford Advocate. Not the other Advocate).
