Dru and Jared

They found Dru Sjodin's body over the weekend, a few months after her disappearence, which has sparked a renewed media frenzy for the case. The story of the also-young, also-missing Jared Dion, however, continues to get no national attention whatsoever. To wit:

Wait - I thought Jared Dion was found. And that they think he was drink, and fell into the river, and drowned.

So that would explain why the national media doesn't really care about it.

Am I missing something?

Sheila-

He was missing for four or five days, then he was found; they're still not sure what the circumstances are of his death.

The first two days of the Jared Dion story and the Audrey Seiler were more or less identical, until he turned up dead and she turned up a fraud.

My point is, the media didn't even think to ask questions, or to cover anything when a male college student was unaccounted for, but they were quick to "man the battle stations" as soon as they found out an attractive woman was missing, and were sure to throw up her photo absolutely everywhere even before they knew the circumstances.

Aha. I see your point.

I missed the point. Obviously - a drunk guy falling into a river, and drowning, is not as interesting (in a media way) as a girl faking her own abduction.

If it weren't for that Greta van Susteran (or however you spell her name) piece on Fox News, I would never have even known the boy was missing.
