Posted by Stephen Silver at June 3, 2004 08:02 AMRoland's done the smart thing, in my book. He knows his talents don't lie in the paths of storytelling, or character development or along any path that might lead to making what most would consider "good."
But he's a lot like Michael Bay. If it involves explosions, destruction and carnage, that's what he's good at. So he's developed his career largely around those things.
He's the internet film snobbery's latest easy target.
