Series Tied, 3-3

It may have taken some help from the umpires, a phalanx of riot police, and a miracle performance by Curt Schilling and his bionic ankle, but the Boston Red Sox have pulled off a baseball first, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to the Yankees to tie the ALCS 3-3 and force a Game 7.

The only thing I have to say about that controversial Rodriguez/Arroyo interference call? That never would've happened if the Red Sox had gotten A-Rod.

Game 7 is Wednesday night; the Red Sox are poised to make history in so many ways.

UPDATE: This blog is currently the #3 Google result for "Boston Wins Game 6." From my post after the Sox won Game 6 of last year's ALCS.

CLARIFICATION: By "help from the umpires," I mean that the umpires helped the Red Sox by making the right decision on both the Bellhorn homer and the A-Rod play.

"Help from the umpires???" How is getting all the calls right considering getting help?

The only thing "controversial" about calling interference on ARod was that the Yankees didn't get away with cheating like they normally do -- see '99 ALCS phantom tags, Jeffrey Maier in '96, and a whole slew of Jeter phantom tags in this year's playoffs. ARod's bitch-slap was about as clear-cut a case of breaking the rules as you'll ever see.

I dare say we don't even WANT A-Rod after that ridiculous bitch slap last night. The Yankees can keep him. Talk about a choke. Here's something you'll identify with: The Yanks are just like W -- they know they can't win on skill and merit alone, but they feel entitled to the title, so they have to resort to ugly tactics to get it. The political parallels are, to me, so obvious it's funny. I say Go Kerr -- I mean, Go Sox !!!! :-)

I see it the other way, Michael. I see Bush as the common, down to earth rich guy and Kerry as the elitist rich guy. Kerry always seems more clean cut and polished than the President.

I was so impressed that FOX was going to interview the guy who attempted to catch Bellhorn's homerun, and then so disappointed with the actual interview. Who gives a fuck about the daughter. Ask the guy if he was trying to catch the ball? Ask him if he felt like he was about to be the anti-Steve Bartman had the call stood and the Yankees won by one?

C'mon FOX, you spend so much on your crappy DiamondCAM and so little on your "field reporters".
