East Coast Bias Bowl Preview

As Bill Simmons appears to be prophesizing disaster in Jacksonville (will it be the Woodstock ’99 of Super Bowls?), we’ve got an actual game to play on Sunday. I’ll be in Philly for it, and Boston next weekend, so either way I’ll be soaking up a championship atmosphere. I’m rooting for the former, and predicting it too: Eagles 20, Patriots 14. See you Monday.

Right about Jacksonville, wrong about the score, and here's why...

Great prediction! Go Eagles!! I can't remember the last time I was rooting FOR a team in the Superbowl, as opposed to against the other! For years, my Superbowl support has been John Kerryesque. Finally, this year, I can Clinton it.

Steve, I can't believe you've caved to rooting for your girlfriend's team.
I am not rooting for the Eagles, and my in-laws (Philly Fans all) paid for the wedding.

One more predictive post on the Eagles' flopperoo in the big game. Not that I, as a Red Sox fan, gloat over others' striving for glory. Mister Snitch respects the true sports fan. But still, have to tell it like it is. Learn and grow, grasshoppers.

Congrats to Steve for crossing over. My prediction, Eagles 24 Patriots 17.

I predict Patriots 24, Eagles 21.

wow, Jeff S, you're so prescient! (note the time of Jeff's post).

as i said before the Bowl ... either way it ended New Yorkers are miserable. and that made the eagles' loss hurt a tiny bit less.

Hey. Worth a shot, right? You're too damned observant. This would have passed as news on FoxNews or CBS.

BTW, I was impressed with the use of the word "prescient". I even had to look it up in the dictionary - "perceiving the significance of events before they occur" http://www.cogsci.princeton.edu/ Cognitive Science Library in Princeton. But, I'm going to have to give you an "ehhh" for the use of the word in this context. Better luck next time! :)
