Rapper Lil Kim was sentenced today to a year and a day in jail for lying to a grand jury, which I certainly hope is more time than Judith Miller will serve.
In "Hit 'Em Up," his famed shot at Biggie Smalls, 2Pac famously charged that

Seeing a Lil Kim actually committed a crime (perjury, you know, that thing Bill Clinton wasn't removed from office for because "everyone does it," or something like that) and Judith Miller didn't, I think that's pretty likely. A civil contemnor is said to "hold the keys to their own cell" because they can cease their contempt and be let go whenever they want to, but even regardless, while I don't know the details of the law on this, my understanding is that Miller can only be held for the life of this particular grand jury.
