It's Good to Be Silver

This blog's patron saint, Ron Silver, has been appointed by President Bush to the board of directors of the U.S. Institute of Peace. Let's hope this works out better than Bush's appointment of another guy who spoke at the GOP convention the same night Ron did, Bernard Kerik.

Did you see "The West Wing" last week? Specifically that scene between Ron and Janeane Garofolo where they "negotiated" debate terms? I'm sure the two actors had to be separated afterwards, so they wouldn't strangle one another.

Its funny how Ron is on the Republican side in the show now...its sad but makes for great tv...and Janeane looks pale and too skiny as usual, although the painted eyebrows are a good touch.

Bush had to use a recess appointment for Daniel Pipes as well. I sent a email to one of those liberal California woman on the comittee (Boxer or Feinstein) can't remember, and they said that they were concerned that Pipes was an "islamaphobe" and that CAIR opposed his nomination so they had to take that very seriously.

Very troubling appeasement to a radical islamic front group.
