Film Critic Quote of the Week

"It proves that, particularly in the case of Bobby, it doesn’t often matter how laughable or incompetent a movie might really be… as long as you tickle the right parts of your target audience’s ideological nether regions, even un film de Estevez will be taken seriously. I’m frankly baffled as how this flatly staged, horribly acted, made-for-cable-looking wank even made it into cinemas, besides the obvious explanation that Harvey Weinstein desperately needs an Oscar movie and if he has to move mountains and create one out of thin air, well… that’s what makes him Harvey Weinstein."
-Sean Burns, on House Next Door, making fun of "Bobby," and a phenomenon that I have myself seen play out dozens of times. Posted by Stephen Silver at December 7, 2006 03:43 PM

I agree. I havent seen this movie but lots of clips and it does look made for tv. Also they keep pointing out the ensemble cast. I guess everyone is trying to be the new Crash...
