Quote of the Day

From Bill Simmons' mailbag on Friday:

Q: Any chance that the U.S. pulling out of Iraq could have Ewing Theory implications? You know, we pull out and suddenly and inexplicably democracy flourishes and everyone gets along? --Jeff, Philadelphia

SG: No.

That really is the exact theory of the "we're fueling the insurgency" argument, but I would liken Iraq and us to the the Knicks and Ewing around 2002- they're pretty much screwed with us or without us.

See, also, Bill's thoughts on the five least believable parts of "Mr. Holland's Opus."

Mr. Holland's Opus is entertaining...it's like a failed demented version of forrest gump.
