Yankee Dirt

My former NYPress editor, Tim Marchman, unloads in the New York Sun on both A-Rod and the New York press' treatment of the current scandal. But then he buries the lede:

Whether squiring around strippers or showing his face at sex clubs, Rodriguez was doing so in confidence that the press would uphold the unwritten pact that has heretofore prevented anyone from writing about such activities, just as no one writes about the supposed bisexuality of one prominent Yankee or the rumors that one respected former Yankee has a backup wife.
Wow, first an unnamed New York strip club ratted out Pacman Jones to the NFL, and now this. Athletes might have to stop going to nudie bars altogether, and instead stick to boat cruises exclusively.

My guesses: The bisexual prominent Yankee? Gotta be Jeter. The "respected former Yankee" with a "backup wife"? Not many of them are "respected," so it's gotta be Paul O'Neill. Or Leyritz.

They wouldn't be able to keep it quiet if it were Jeter, I have other suspicions.

I love how everyone wants to find something wrong with Jeter. he is clearly not Bisexual. He is the respected Yankee of our generation. So i think he may be the one with a backup wife, whatever that means. I'm not married so I wouldn't know...As for the bisexual one...I'm baffled on that.

How would Derek Jeter (or anyone for that matter) being bisexual be "something wrong" with him?

And for that matter, how is Jeter "clearly not" bisexual? I'm not saying he is (I don't think it's him), but I'm wondering how you (A) apparently know his sexuality. Are you close friends with him? And if so, can you score me some tickets?

Shove it Jeremy...I love how you find the need to pick on other people's comments to draw attention to yourself...and here I thought you were a nice guy.

To be fair, I only pick on asinine comments. If you don't want to be picked on, well, you know what not to do.

Your first comment was blatantly intolerant and completely unsupported by any sort of evidence. Your second did nothing to change that.

Oh, and if I wanted to draw attention to myself, I'd comment as often as you do.

I don't know what you have against me Jeremy. You are clearly a bully. I comment on this blog because I'm Steve's friend. It's a thing between us and he knows all about it. I have nothing more to say to you because you are clearly just one of Steve's friends who I'll stay away from in the future (thank god you don't live in the area for me to have to encounter you when I go to Philly as often as I do) because you are so rude and clearly take free speech and jst one person's opionion to strongly. So say whatever you want about me or my comments its an annoyance I'm willing to tolerate on this blog.

First: Jeter's not bi, he's 100% gay.

Second, as far as "respected former Yankees," what about ... Jim Leyritz? His primary wife wasn't doing him much good, at least not in Waltham.

Finally: arguing on the internet is like the Special Olympics: even if you win, you're still retarded.
