Chris Matthews Invades Kevin James

Since the right thinks it's always 1938 and every single foreign policy scenario is exactly analogous to Hitler/Chamberlain, and that diplomacy equals appeasement, you'd think their spokespeople would, you know, be familiar with the specifics of the Munich agreement. This guy, of course, isn't:

I haven't seen Matthews this fired up since the Michelle Malkin/Kerry-shot-himself-on-purpose incident in 2004.

I confess, I used to use the Munich comparison in my more mistaken 2003-2005 days.

I once heard a historian say, and I wish to the god-i-don't-believe-in that I could remember who, on a podcast something to the effect of "people who use the Vietnam comparison are guilty of a historical misdemeanor, but people who compare everything to World War II are guilty of a felony".

I haven't looked at things the same since, and if I may modify Mr. Santayana's idea: Drawing the wrong lesson from history is worse than being ignorant of it.
