Yes, thanks to the Rachael Ray terrorist plot/scarf, they've pulled the ad in question. Proof positive that corporate America will cave in to any demand, no matter how laughable, so long as the word "boycott" is invoked.
I didn't think Michelle Malkin could ever do anything more loathsome than write a book called "In Defense of Internment," but pushing this nonsense is somehow even worse.
Posted by Stephen Silver at May 28, 2008 09:27 PMYou should never underestimate how loathsome Michelle Malkin can be.
Posted by: Tainted Bill at May 28, 2008 09:32 PMDunkin' Donuts is in business to make money, not to take stands on fashion. The first thing I thought of when I saw the ad was Yassir Arafat. Of course, it didn't change my opinion of their coffee -- it's still sour and undrinkable -- but why would any business want to be even subconsciously associated with a terrorist?
Posted by: jabbett at May 29, 2008 07:58 AMOf course, Michelle Malkin could do a lot things more loathesome. She could kill someone, for starters. I don't like her business of professional outrage, but we're talking about donuts and coffee here. If the company felt their sales were threatened, why wouldn't they pull the ad? How do you know the people in charge weren't thinking "crap, this is totally @#$%ing stupid, but if sales will suffer..."?
Posted by: Emily at May 29, 2008 11:03 AMHow could anyone want to boycott DD?! I wish we had it here in CA. It's more disdainful that they chose RR to be their spokesperson in the first place. I can't stand her.
Posted by: A at May 29, 2008 01:06 PMI'll trade you Dunkin' Donuts for Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf any day!
Posted by: jabbett at May 29, 2008 04:24 PMSo how does she explain this outfit?

Rachel Ray is hot. She can wear whatever she wants, and I will buy whatever she is selling.
