The Media Elite vs. MySpace

Media writer Michael Wolff has many things to say about Rupert Murdoch both in a new book and in this BusinessWeek interview; here's my favorite part:

I don’t think that’s true. I think it is--if you’re on MySpace now, you’re a [expletive] cretin. And you’re not only a [expletive] cretin, but you’re poor. Nobody who has beyond an 8th grade level of education is on MySpace. It is for backwards people.
Normally I'd consider it condescending for a member of the elite media to talk down to people who are uneducated, "poor" and "[expletive] cretins" based on their entertainment choices, but hey, he's totally right about MySpace.

Well, he could have just left it at "I don't like MySpace" or whatever. Thanks for calling me an uneducated fucking cretin. Anyway, is this the same Michael Wolff that ten years ago dismissed the internet entirely?
