SCHWARZBANGER: I never thought the day would come when a major political candidate, much less a Republican, could admit his participation in a long-ago gang bang, and not have it affect his electoral chances negatively. But that's exactly what's happening to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who admitted in a now-famous interview with the French porn magazine Oui that in 1978 he and several other men participated in group sex with a lone woman.
Californian blogger Mickey Kaus broke this story (by noticing the magazine for sale on Ebay before anyone else did) and has been all over the recall all along. But here's a weird argument he made the other day (scroll down to "Schwarzenegger's Defense: 'I'm a Huge Liar!'"), about why Ah-nuld may have made up the whole gang-bang story:

The more you think about it, the more Arnold's boasting to Oui smells like pure PR BS-ing. Schwarzenegger, remember, was determined to rid bodybuilding of its homosexual image. So he comes up with a group gangbang incident--not only is he straight, but all the guys in the gym were straight!

The mental image of seven naked male bodybuilders in a room engaging in a sex act with one woman is supposed to make the bodybuilding world sound less gay? I'd be more inclined to reach the opposite conclusion…
In other recall news, the all-purpose anti-Bush website MoveOn.org is now running a petition against the California recall, arguing that it "undermines," and "strikes at the very foundation of our democracy." Only in America, I suppose, can a constitutionally mandated election "undermine democracy."
