And I'm very pleasantly surprised that much of the conservative punditariet realizes it. When Lott steps down (hopefully by the weekend), it will be a great day for America, because it will prove once and for all that there's not room in the leadership of either major political party for an unreconstructed racist. And make no mistake about it: that's what Trent Lott is.
