After five months and $2.5 million in winnings, Ken Jennings finally lost on today's episode of Jeopardy. After missing almost the entire streak, I happened to catch the Final Jeopardy loss.
Yes, call Jennings a Charles Van Doren for the 21st century- except without the WASP intellectual pedigree. Or, for that matter, the answers.

Posted by: Marti at December 1, 2004 09:36 AMwhat's the frequency, ken jennings?
Posted by: LilB at December 1, 2004 11:17 AMI'm a huge Jeopardy fan and I watched every single show waiting for someone to beat him. He was killing me...
When I saw him lose last night my wife and I were high-fiving and dancing around like idiots. I uncorked a great bottle of wine. Jealous? Of course I'm jealous, but he was a little too goddam smug. I also noticed that even if he had already won millions, as soon as he fell behind in a game (which happened planty of times) he stopped smiling and looked pretty nasty.
Jealous? You bet I am.
Posted by: Paul at December 1, 2004 03:10 PMHe did get a little reckless with his bets on the daily doubles. How long until a movie, and then a "whatever happened to..."
Posted by: Jeff S at December 1, 2004 07:50 PMWhat are you talking about? He had all the answers. He didn't have the correct QUESTION. :)
And yes, I know they're called "clues" now, not "answers."
Posted by: Jeremy Wahlman at December 1, 2004 10:26 PMI think it was rigged. The answer was so easy.
