So Long, Jacque

Outfielder Jacque Jones has left the only organization he's ever known, the Minnesota Twins, and signed a three-year free-agent deal with the Chicago Cubs. In making the move, Jones joins such notable Twins-to-Cubs transplants as LaTroy Hawkins, Rich "El Guapo" Garces, Henry Blanco and (of course) Ron Davis.

Supposedly this is for $16 million. The Twins offered arbitration and in 2005 he got ~$5mil (he probably would have gotten 6-7 mil in arbitration). He knew that his best bet was a multi-year contract because his numbers are sliding.

Nevertheless. Even though he struck out a lot. He had some clutch hits; its a shame to see him leave.
