Memo to the Blue Jays

If the manager has now gotten into a physical confrontation with one of his own players for the second time in a month, isn't that an indication that maybe something is wrong? I mean, it's not like he lied about going to Vietnam, or anything, but maybe it's time to let John Gibbons go.

UPDATE: Having now watched the highlights, I've gotta revise my position and blame Ted Lilly. When you're a pitcher, you don't refuse to come out of the game, that's something that just can't be done.

I had a lot of the same reaction, even changing my mind when I saw the thing.

I say all this having watched only a couple of the Jays' games, and read only here and there what goes on in Toronto...but it almost sounds like Gibbons lets the inmates run the asylum, and when he tries to clamp down now and then, he does so inconsistently, and the inmates revolt.

Still, the fact that this sort of thing has happened to get into the media twice, now, is indicative that something is sorely wrong in Toronto....
